(WJET/WFXP) -- The City of Warren Police Department is warning residents in Warren City and Warren County about a new phone scam.

On Tuesady, December 10, the City of Warren Police Department made a Facebook post warning about a man who is allegedly calling residents and impersonating a federal bail officer.

According to the post, the man will call claiming to be Lt. Richard Coleman, a federal bail officer, and will tell the individual that they missed a federal jury selection and now faces charges against them.

The man will then request that the individual put money on a kiosk card in order to provide the information to him for payment to avoid the charges.

Any residents who receive a call similar to this should hang up immediately.
