DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Dorchester County Coroner's Office has identified the person who died in a Ladson house fire Saturday evening.

Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brothers says Connie E. Tolbert, 65, of Ladson died at the scene after fire officials performed CPR.

Dispatchers received the first report of a fire at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Robert Drive.

Upon arrival four minutes later, they discovered smoke and fire at the bank entrance of the home, Dorchester County Government spokesperson Erin Pomrenke said.

The fire was assisted by Dorchester County Fire Rescue Stations 21 and 23 and two other Summerville Fire Rescue stations.

Crews were able to locate and recover the person inside after neighbors notified them.

Pomrenke says the home was also not recoverable.

Dorchester County Fire and the Summerville Fire Rescue are still investigating the cause of the fire.
