Equal Hope

Equal Hope is a local not-for-profit organization that's helped more than 12,000 uninsured or underinsured Cook and Lake county residents undergo free breast and cervical cancer screenings. The organization was originally set up in 2008 as the Metropolitan Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force to address racial disparities in breast cancer mortality.

Sinai Chicago's Health & Healing for Life program helps patients, particularly those who don't know where to start, schedule a breast, cervical, or colorectal screening appointment. The service, which begins with a phone call, is free to all community members and includes access to support resources.

Cook County Health offers mammograms to all individuals who qualify, regardless of ability to pay or insurance status. You can learn more at the health system's upcoming breast cancer educational fairs, where advocates will be on hand to help patients schedule their screenings.
