WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Tom Barrack, a onetime private equity executive and fundraiser for Donald Trump, has been picked by the president-elect as the U.S. ambassador to Turkey, Trump said on social media on Tuesday.
Colony Capital founder Barrack had previously been charged with unlawfully acting as an agent of the United Arab Emirates and was acquitted in 2022 of all nine counts he faced.
