Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office Announces Raises for Deputies

While the majority of American companies are seeing record profits, the American workers aren't seeing the same increase in their wages. Research from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) says that 66% of American companies are expected to keep wages flat in 2025, while 15% expect to take wages lower. The said roughly 19% of companies expect to have higher wages.

Some consider an annual "cost of living" increase to be a 2% raise at the start of every year, when inflation hits as hard as it has over the last few years, it doesn't seem to make a difference. That's why residents in many states, both "red" and "blue", voted this year to raise their minimum wage to $15 an hour (or higher).

Today, the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office announced they will be going above the 2% cost of living increase that some consider standard. With Deputies seeing a 4% increase for 2025.

The release states:

"Starting January 10, 2025, Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office deputies will receive a 4% pay increase.

This raise, approved by Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. on Tuesday, applies to all operations and detention bureau deputies."

According to the release, these pay increases are possible because of property taxes that will roll forward in January. Caddo Parish Sheriff Henry Whitehorn also added in the release:
