Flurries fly across parts of the Midstate

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - If it's going to be this cold, it might as well snow, right? Well, it did in some places.

Cold air was locked in place Saturday as a "clipper" system was expected to swing through Kentucky. These clipper systems do exactly as their name suggests, they clip an area. They are usually quick moving as well.

With that clipper system lining up with the cold air already in place, parts of the Midstate saw some snow flurries today. Southern Kentucky saw quite a bit more of those flurries than Middle Tennessee did.

This same weak system is expected to bring 1-3'' of accumulating snow to portions of northern and central Kentucky, including Louisville and Lexington.

A few more flakes could fly along the Tennessee and Kentucky state-line, but no accumulations are expected.
