ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI, is experiencing an outage on Thursday afternoon.

According to Downdector.com, thousands of users have reported outages after a surge in reports beginning around 10:20 a.m. PST. The ongoing issue also impacted users of OpenAI's API, a cloud-based program, and Sora, a text-to-video artificial intelligence model.

In its latest update, shared at 1:05 p.m. PST, OpenAI said it is working on a fix for the issue.

In an earlier update, the company did acknowledge that the problem was caused by an "upstream provider."
