The officiating crew in Alabama's football matchup against Missouri is having a rough first half, to say the least.
After getting yelled at by Crimson Tide coach Kalen DeBoer following a questionable late hit penalty on LT Overton, the crew heard from Tigers coach Eli Drinkwitz at the end of the very same drive. Alabama's Jaylen Mbakwe fielded a punt inside the 10-yard line, which he called a fair catch. However, after a bobble, Mbakwe continued to run, which is not allowed following a fair catch.
A penalty should have been called on Mbakwe.

Following the play, Drinkwitz tore into the refereeing crew into the timeout. At the beginning of the second quarter, when sideline reporter Katie George asked Drinkwitz about his conversation with the refs, he was candid, and restrained, in his response.
"That's a penalty, but they didn't call it because it is a judgment call," Drinkwitz said. "But, I'm not gonna get fined today."
This is what the NCAA rule book says pertaining to a fair catch:
"8.1.c: A valid or invalid fair catch signal deprives the receiving team of the opportunity to advance the ball. The ball is declared dead at the spot of the catch or recovery or at the spot of the signal if the catch precedes the signal."
