East Moline Police Officer Adam Zimmer volunteered to be tasered during a demonstration Tuesday at the National Night Out Against Crime. East Moline Police Officer Matt Drobney is operating the taser.
East Moline will host its final public meeting on the city's Greater Downtown Revitalization Project on Thursday, Nov. 7.
The meeting will focus on a proposed extension of Bend Boulevard that aims to strengthen connections, facilitate additional redevelopment at The Bend and further enhance the community asset.
The meeting will be held in the Rust Belt Common area at 533 12th Ave., and will run from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event is informal, and attendees can stop by any time in the timeframe to view the proposed designs and talk with city staff and the project team.
East Moline Mayor Reggie Freeman said that the extension was about setting the stage for future developments to enrich and grow the community.
"Extending Bend Boulevard will transform how our community connects with the riverfront and make it easier for people to enjoy and access all that East Moline offers," Freeman said in a press release.
