To the editor: I was recently taken to the emergency room of Fairview Hospital.

Bloodwork at that point was inconclusive, but the medical staff made a tentative (and correct) diagnosis that I was suffering from a tick-borne disease. They admitted me to the hospital to begin treatment right away. I spent two nights there.

This letter is to praise every single person on staff in both the ER and on the second floor. Doctors, nurses and other attendants were all highly trained, professional and knowledgeable, and they were so kind and attentive.

Some were local to the Berkshires. Some had come here from faraway places. (The world has given us the great gift of good people.) We are very lucky to have such a fine hospital serving us, staffed by such wonderful people.
