Ring in the holiday season with a multitude of Christmas concerts this weekend, including performances by the Chattanooga Girls Choir, Mid-South Symphonic Band and the Sound of Tennessee. Or see Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" brought to life by the Chattanooga Ballet and the Civic Ballet of Chattanooga. There are also several holiday markets taking place to satisfy last-minute Christmas shopping needs. -- Photographic Society of Chattanooga continues its autumn/holiday show at the Gallery at Blackwell, 71 Eastgate Loop. Society members have their works on display and available for purchase. -- Liquidambar Art Gallery at Sequatchie Valley Institute, 1233 Cartwright Loop, Whitwell, is open to showcase ceramics, glass, metal ornaments, kaleidoscopes and paintings by local artists. -- Chattanooga Urban Beekeeping Collective will begin hosting monthly meetings every second Thursday. -- Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will present a one-hour, ranger-led program focusing on the 6888th Central Postal Battalion at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chickamauga Battlefield, 3370 Lafayette Road, Fort Oglethorpe. The battalion was the only predominantly African American female battalion to go overseas during World War II. The drive-through show will run through Dec. 29, opening nightly beginning Friday.
