Customers saw a change when a new Shake Shack opened in Redlands on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
The quick service restaurant is in Orange Street Plaza in space vacated by the Corner Bakery Cafe.
"It looks so different," said Larry Vizard, who came from Calimesa with his neighbor Ron King for the occasion. "I like the way they made it more open and airy, brighter."

The men were first-time customers at Shake Shack, which is based in New York City. They got core menu items. King ordered an Avocado Bacon Chicken Sandwich and a strawberry shake. Vizard ordered a double cheeseburger and fries.
The menu also includes flat-top hot dogs, which are sliced down the middle and served on toasted buns, lemonade and frozen custard.
The Redlands restaurant is Shake Shack's second location in the Inland Empire, after one in Rancho Cucamonga's Victoria Gardens opened in 2023.
Shake Shack sent trainers and several employees to Redlands from other Southern California restaurants for the occasion.
Opening day was a benefit for the Family Service Association of Redlands, which set up a table at the entrance
Shake Shack representatives said they want the chain to become part of the community at a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by several members of the Redlands Chamber of Commerce.
Among them was Molly Salas, president of Small Business Accounting Services. It was also her first trip to a Shake Shack.
Salas said that as a chamber ambassador she regularly shows visitors what Redlands has to offer. When asked if Shake Shack could make the cut, she said, "Oh heck yes."
Regular hours will be 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The address is 402 Orange St., next to two new businesses: Krak Boba, which recently opened, and BZ Taco, which promises plant-based Mexican food and will be coming soon, according to its signage.
