The West Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has made "significant improvement" in addressing a backlog of uncompleted autopsy reports this year, lawmakers were told Tuesday.
The office has substantially reduced a backlog for report completion this year, Matthew Izzo, chief administrator for the state OCME, told members of the Legislative Oversight Commission on Health and Human Resources Accountability.
