WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Several fire departments are responding to a large fire on the property of a well-known South Carolina barbecue restaurant on Charleston Highway.
West Columbia fire officials confirmed that several departments, including Cayce, Irmo, Columbia, and Lexington County, are assisting with a response to the blaze on Maurice's Piggy Park's property.
West Columbia Fire Chief Marquis Solomon said the fire involved the offices and cookhouse at the location. He described the blaze as a multi-alarm fire.
As of 10 p.m., fire crews were still attempting to contain the fire. Solomon also warned that Nearby roads, including portions of Charleston Highway, are closed due to fire crews working in the area.
No cause has been determined, and no injuries have been reported.
