On the occasion of the launch of the Global Humanitarian Overview 2025 (GHO), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) will host an event in Geneva on 4 December 2024.

The GHO is the annual overview of humanitarian trends and needs worldwide, as well as the interagency plans to respond to the crises. The GHO includes a summary of the funding necessary to implement the plans next year.

The event will take place from 10:30 to 12:00 CEST/Geneva (GMT +1) in Room XVII at the Palais des Nations. Media accredited to the UN Office at Geneva can access the room. The event will also be livestreamed on UN Web TV

The Geneva event is one of three during the day, with the other two taking place in Kuwait and Nairobi. In Geneva, the GHO will be presented by Mr. Tom Fletcher, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, and Ms. Claire Doole will moderate a panel on the special theme "Upholding International Humanitarian Law in Armed Conflict".
