KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) -- One person was hit by a train and killed in Kalamazoo on Saturday.

Just before 1 p.m., the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety posted on social media that crews were on the scene of a fatal train crash near W Main Street and the Elm Street crossover.

Inbound W. Main Street is closed, KDPS said. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
