A 16-year-old was wounded in a shooting by two police officers in Dubuque, according to Dubuque police.
The shooting came Tuesday as officers tried to arrest the boy on adult warrant, according to a news release.
The teen ran away and the two officers fired at him when he showed a knife, the release said.
He was wounded in the arm and shoulder and the officers provided first aid until he could be taken to a hospital.
Per police policy, the officers are on leave pending an investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
