Midnight brunch? This rapper T.I.-inspired event is a vibe night before Thanksgiving

BURTON, MI -- On one of the biggest bar nights of the year, one party stands out as a destination above the rest.

Yep, that's the night before Thanksgiving and the Flint area will have a destination that's set to be a memorable night out on the town.

'Midnight Brunch' will bring people together with food, music, dancing, and, of course, drinks.

The first-time gathering is a Beats x Beers event, and will take place from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the Soothing Tunes Room, located at 1408 Hemphill Road in Burton.

"I love brunch. I love a good nighttime outing that's different from your typical party or bar night'" said Brandon Corder, founder of Beats x Beers. "So I took that, and knew I really wanted to do this sort of event in my own way.

"A lot of times, the night before Thanksgiving we knew everyone is home for the holidays. It's always been a time to meet up with old friends and family and live it up. The night before Thanksgiving is huge."

The inspiration for the event has been ruminating with Corder since 2015, when he attended a Los Angeles party that was hosted by popular rapper T.I., where he had a late night brunch party.

Corder said the experience always stuck with him. He's attended or hosted hundreds of events, but that one has always stood out above others.

"It's brunch at night, and it doesn't get much better than that," he said. "

The food will be made by Sumtin' 2 Eat, and the menu is filled with savory and delicious plated options.

The menu options include chicken and waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, garlic roasted potatoes, shrimp and grits and steak bites.

Vegetarians and vegans also have options, which include plant-based sausage, waffles, eggs, garlic roasted potatoes and grits.

Drinks specials will include mimosas, tequila sunrises and Long Island iced teas for $7 each.

DJ Hype will be on scene providing the music.

"It's a vibe and on the biggest bar night of the year," Corder said. "It's not your typical bar night or party. This is something people will remember for a long time."

The event is ticketed. Tickets cost $20, and can be purchased ahead of time here. Those interested can also pay at the door on the night of the event.

Plated meal prices may vary dependent on the order, and food is at an additional cost to the tickets to attend.
