Knicks Emerge as Favorite to Land Lakers' Star Guard in Offseason Trade

Now the Knicks are back in the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000 and they will have a tough matchup against a Pacers team coming off a dominating series over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

While New York will look to keep their championship hopes alive by winning the series and advancing to the NBA Finals, they could be in line to make some changes to their roster in the offseason.

Of course, the Knicks have been rumored to have interest in both Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo, but they could instead look to trade for a guard from the Los Angeles Lakers to pair alongside Jalen Brunson in the backcourt.

According to Bovada, the Knicks have emerged as the favorite (+400) to land Austin Reaves from the Lakers in an offseason trade.

The Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers have the same odds (+400) as New York and they are followed by the Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors (+500).

Reaves had a great season for the Lakers but with their season coming to a disappointing ending in the first round of the playoffs, Los Angeles could move on from him this summer.

There have been reports that the Lakers are not interested in moving on from Reaves unless they can add a star big man, which the Knicks will not be able to provide unless they give up Karl-Anthony Towns.

With Towns playing a key role for New York this season, it is unlikely the Knicks move on from him in the offseason but they could offer the Lakers Mitchell Robinson if they are still in need of a center.
