Vincent Simmons, of Waterbury, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 15, and is now facing multiple drug-related and traffic charges, police said.
Officers patrolling Baldwin Street spotted Simmons sitting in a running vehicle with several visible violations, authorities said. When they approached to speak with him, Simmons allegedly threw the car into reverse and floored it, slamming into two patrol cars.
No officers were injured, and Simmons was taken into custody shortly afterward, police said.
A search of the vehicle revealed 352 small bags of fentanyl and 104 grams of cocaine, all packaged as if for sale, authorities said.
Simmons was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of half an ounce or more of cocaine, reckless driving, interfering with an officer, disobeying the signal of an officer, and multiple traffic violations, police said.
He was released after posting a $50,000 bond, according to Waterbury police.
