Nancy was born on Oct. 27, 1942 in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Truman and Janice (Hansen) Robertson. On June 12, 1965 Nancy was united in marriage to Norman L. Delin at the Calvary Baptist Church in Rhinelander, Wis. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law Roy and Bertha Delin.

When she was five, her parents moved to Rhinelander where she attended grade school and high school, graduating in 1960. It was during those years that she helped her parents start their Christian Camping Ministry called Fort Wilderness. She was one of 10 campers for a weeklong summer camp in 1956. Today Fort Wilderness services over 8,000 campers every year. She then attended Bethel College in St. Paul, graduating in 1964 with a B.A. in English and Biology. She met Norman L. Delin, the love of her life, while student teaching at Roosevelt High School.

Nancy taught English at Jordan Junior High in Minneapolis from 1966-1968. On Dec. 12, 1968 she gave birth to Heather and on May 28, 1973 she gave birth to Jennie. During those years as a homemaker, she gave her time to her family, but also to volunteer work. She started the volunteer program at Ridgeview Hospital which included Dinner at Your Door. The volunteer program is still going today. In 1978 she began her Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) career working as the coordinator for the Carver/Scott Cooperative until 1990. She then accepted a position as ECFE Coordinator for the Edina Public Schools until 2004. She was very passionate about her work and the people that she worked alongside. She received many prestigious awards and honors throughout her career. Her most recent honor was giving the Martha Stanley Keynote address in April of 2005.

Nancy and Norman attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis until they moved out to Waconia in 1971 where they then attended Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. During her daughters' high school years, Nancy's family attended Excelsior Covenant in Excelsior. After those years Norman and Nancy went back to Faith Lutheran until 2004. They recently became members at Waterbrooke Fellowship in Victoria. In each church she was involved in ministry through teaching both adults and children. She also loved being a part of Women's Ministries, and singing in the choir.

Nancy loved her family! Her favorite days were having her children and grandchildren out for the day in Waconia. It was on those days that her family saw her incredible gift of hospitality shine through. Nancy was a wonderful entertainer. She also loved having extended family and friends in her home for weekend visits, and dinner parties. She made any gathering a special occasion. Nancy was a wonderful cook and loved to set a beautiful table. Nancy also loved reading; she was a member of the Sagasu Book Club in Waconia for over 30 years. She had a strong appreciation for the fine arts. She and Norman enjoyed going to Orchestra Hall, the Ordway, the Chanhassen Dinner Theater, and all the museums in the Twin Cities. Her love of the theater began in high school where she played the lead role in "The Mikado." She continued her involvement in theater in college and in the Waconia Community Theater. Nancy was a wonderful writer and speaker. She presented to more than 500 different audiences on topics related to her passion of building strong families and strong organizations. Nancy and Norman enjoyed traveling, their most recent trip being in October 2006 to visit Norman's brother and wife in Istanbul, Turkey.

Most importantly, the Lord drew Nancy to Himself at an early age. She trusted Jesus for her salvation and lived her life wanting to glorify Him. Her life verse was Romans 8:38-39. "For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus, our Lord."
