Global technology provider Gcore and Saudi-based Ezditek have announced a joint venture to establish a cutting-edge AI factory in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The initiative aims to bolster the country's position as a global hub for artificial intelligence by enabling the development, training, and deployment of generative AI solutions both locally and internationally.
The collaboration merges Ezditek's expertise in sustainable and AI-centric data center development with Gcore's proficiency in cloud-based AI infrastructure. The joint venture agreement was formalized in May 2024, and regulatory approvals, including those from the KSA's General Authority for Competition, are currently underway.
The initiative has garnered support from Saudi government officials. Eng. Bassam Al-Bassam, Deputy Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure at MCIT, underscored the collaboration's broader impact. "This partnership will accelerate the adoption of AI and cloud computing solutions, benefiting businesses and citizens alike. Supported by Saudi Arabia's reliable infrastructure and digital capabilities, it will also enhance national digital capacity and attract increased investment."
