PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) -- Councilman John Goncalves said Design Center Partners has been named the developer for Parcel 5, a vacant lot in Fox Point.

Goncalves said the new center will bring 150 apartments and 25 condos to Ward 1 in Providence.

Additionally, he said there will be 30,000 square feet of retail space, with tenants including DesignxRI, Air and Anchor, and Angel's Kitchen

"This project will enhance Providence's creative economy with public art, pedestrian-friendly spaces and new housing opportunities. A huge win for our capital city," Goncalves said.
