Lebanon Driver Services Center reopened earlier than expected after extensive remodel

The Lebanon Driver Services Center at 204 Maddox Simpson Parkway reopened ahead of schedule last week after being closed for remodeling since mid-July, according to the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security.

A temporary mobile driver services center was set up in buses in the parking lot next to the city's Public Works building. The driver services center was later moved inside the Lebanon Public Works Building at 406 Tennessee Boulevard.

The remodeling job was expected to be completed in January, officials had said.

The renovated center has resumed regular hours, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Appointments made for the mobile unit will be honored at the Lebanon Driver Services Center.

The renovated space includes new furniture, paint, updated flooring, new credentialing equipment and new self-service kiosks.

The new self-service kiosks can be used to complete driver services transactions that include renewing or replacing a duplicate driver license or ID card, changing an address, updating emergency contact information, advancing a Teen/Graduated Driver License, paying reinstatement fees, and requesting a license reissue after reinstatement requirements are met.

The new kiosks can take photos and process payments with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a credit or debit card.
