RAPIDES PARSIH, La. (WAFB) - A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing man who troopers said walked away from a hospital in Rapides Parish.

According to Louisiana State Police, John Kilbourne, 87, was discovered missing around 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, February 8. He was at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital on Masonic Drive in Alexandria and was somehow able to walk away from the facility.

Troopers said Kilbourne suffers from a medical condition that may impair his judgment.

Kilbourne is about 5-foot-11, weighs about 190 pounds, and has gray hair and brown eyes, authorities said. They added that he was last seen wearing a black and yellow hat with the words "military vet" written on it, a brown shirt, gray pants, and black shoes.

Troopers believe that Kilbourne is traveling on foot.
