Super Bowl Sunday has arrived, but for Detroit Lions fans, it doesn't seem to be a day they're looking forward to based on recent events.

After the Lions' shocking divisional-round loss to the Washington Commanders in January, MLive polled fans in the week leading up to Super Bowl LIX through an anonymous survey to gauge whether they had recovered from the stunning defeat.

Understandably, many fans expressed lingering disappointment over the No. 1 seed Lions falling short against the sixth-seeded Commanders.

When asked if they had moved on from the loss, one fan from Michigan wrote, "No, all my Lions gear is put away until next season." Another, an Illinois resident shared, "Absolutely not! A 15-2 season meant nothing."

Additionally, we asked fans what the Lions need to do to finally reach their first Super Bowl.

"More than anything, they need HEALTH! Hutch needs to return to form and get some secondary pass-rush support. The open CB spot is pretty glaring right now," wrote a fan from Louisiana.

Sunday's big game at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans features a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, with the Kansas City Chiefs facing the Philadelphia Eagles. Along with asking fans about the Lions, we also gathered their thoughts on who will emerge victorious.
