Wind advisory affecting Northern California Sunday, according to the NWS

A wind advisory was issued by the NWS Eureka CA on Saturday at 1:07 p.m. valid for Sunday between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. The advisory is for Coastal Del Norte, Del Norte Interior, Southwestern Humboldt, Northern Humboldt Interior and Southern Humboldt Interior.

Southeast winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected for Del Norte County, Humboldt Interior, and Southwestern Humboldt from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

"Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges and exposed coastal headlands. There is an increased risk of tree branches and other debris on roadways. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," states the NWS. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects."
