Seed oil versus beef fat frying has been a topic of much discussion on the internet, as many are switching to the more "old school" use of tallow/lard in their cooking.

Sadly, Lubbock now longer has a Steak N' Shake, but I could see the right franchisee making it work, especially given that particular change.
Luckily, if you live in Lubbock, you now have at least two options for tallow-fried eats. But first, let's talk the benefits versus the drawbacks of these two types of frying oil.
For many years, seed oils were considered a healthier alternative to animal fat frying because tallow is full of saturated fat, which can lead to heart disease. And that is something you should consider before going all in on tallow.

However, seed oils have been called to the floor to answer for their nutritional crimes- mainly their omega-6 fats, which can promote inflammation, according to Health.com. If you have a health condition lupus or arthritis, you likely want to avoid seed oils as much as possible.
So, which one is worse? Like almost anything in life, your mileage will vary based on your own needs and preferences. However, if all things happen to be equal for you, I'd side with beef fat because it's super delicious!
