A fast-food chain known for its chicken tenders, crinkle-cut fries and signature sauce hopes to open in Worcester next year.
Raising Cane's wants to open a restaurant at 494 Lincoln St. in the fall of 2025, a representative for the restaurant confirmed with MassLive Wednesday.
The chain will ask the Worcester Zoning Board of Appeals for special permits at the board's Nov. 25 meeting, according to the board's agenda.
A summary on the agenda said the chain wants to build a restaurant that's about 3,500 square feet featuring a two-lane drive-through and 40 parking spaces. Additional paperwork, including the restaurant's site plans, has been posted on the board's website.
Founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1996, Raising Cane's serves chicken fingers, the main feature of its menu. The restaurant also offers crinkle-cut fries, Texas toast and a sauce known as Cane's Sauce.
Raising Cane's currently has eight locations in Massachusetts: three in Boston and one in Saugus, Medford, Marlborough, Methuen and Seekonk, according to their website. The chain announced last year its intentions to open a restaurant in Framingham.
