Already confirmed not to be available for next week's episode of SmackDown, WWE has revealed that Jade Cargill's injury might be more serious than a short-term absence. In an official release on Saturday afternoon, WWE shared that Cargill suffered multiple injuries following a mysterious attack during Friday's SmackDown.
Cargill was found on the hood of a car, having been seemingly thrown off a platform in the parking garage. Bianca Belair ditched her contender's Triple Threat match with Chelsea Green and Blair Davenport to attend to her partner, and the two rode off in an ambulance.
WWE wrote in a statement:
BREAKING:@Jade_Cargill has been diagnosed with the following injuries: Deep Lumbar Paraspinal Muscle Contusions, Bruised Kidney, Sprained MCL in her right knee, Tibial Plateau Bone Bruise of her right knee, Facial Lacerations. There is no timetable for her return.
This could be hinting at Cargill being out for some time and someone coming in to take her place in the tournament, while also potentially causing Belair to have to forfeit the tag team titles if she can't defend them. If Cargill is able to return, it would be a shock considering the list of injuries WWE is saying she suffered.

Which wrestlers might have had a motive to attack Jade Cargill?
Fans on the social media thread started suggesting names to blame and the storyline now is trying to figure out who was responsible for the attack on Cargill. There are no shortage of options. Bayley and Naomi were first on the scene and Belair seemed suspicious about Bayley wanting to help. There are also rumors that Charlotte Flair or Becky Lynch might be close to returning. Could one of them fill the open slot left by Cargill's absence in the tournament? What about someone not in the brackets? Piper Niven has floated out there as an option.
Alternatively, what if this is Belair? Is it possible that this whole thing is an elaborate setup meant to split the tag team champions apart, with Belair feeling like she's carrying the duo?
