Central Square, N.Y. -- A Walmart store in Central Square that closed after heavy snowfall on its roof will reopen Thursday afternoon.

The Walmart, at 3018 East Ave., closed on Monday after heavy snowfall accumulated on the roof.

The store will reopen at 2 p.m. today, according to Charles Crowson, a spokesperson for Walmart.

The store had to remove excess snow before reopening, he said.

The roof didn't collapse, Crowson said on Tuesday.

According to Facebook posts Tuesday morning from two employees who work at the supercenter, the sheet rock started to crack and there are crews working to get the snow off the roof.

Palermo, near Central Square, received more than 90 inches of snow between Friday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
