FARGO, ND (KXNET) -- Three people from Moorhead, Minnesota have been injured after a rollover crash in Fargo on the afternoon of Monday, December 23, that allegedly resulted in several other property collisions.
According to a press release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 3:21 p.m., a Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Interstate 94 at a high speed. The icy road conditions caused the driver (a 43-year-old woman) to lose control of the vehicle, which traveled through the north ditch and struck multiple trees before coming to rest.
The driver of the vehicle and two passengers (including a juvenile) all sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. They were transported by ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Fargo for treatment.
Following the initial rollover, a series of property crashes took place at the location, which the NDHP states were caused by drivers looking at the crash scene rather than the road. In total, four other drivers were involved in collisions until emergency crews could respond. Upon their arrival, response teams were able to provide traffic control and aid those needing help.
The crash currently remains under investigation.
