No. 6-ranked Notre Dame women's basketball should get its first real test of the season when it takes on No. 3 Southern California in Los Angeles.

The Irish are 4-0, winning their first four games by an average margin of victory of 42.5 points per game, including a 102-58 win over Purdue. USC is also 4-0, with its games by an average margin of victory of 43.25 points, including a 68-66 decision over No. 20 Ole Miss in the season opener in Paris.

Its early in the season, but Notre Dame's roster includes the Atlantic Coast Conference leaders in steals (Hannah Hidalgo) and blocked shots (Kate Koval). Hidalgo is second in the ACC in scoring and Koval is second in rebounding while Olivia Miles is second in assists.

Notre Dame announced a home-and-home match with the Trojans with USC coming to South Bend in 2025-26 season.

The matchup pits last year's rookie phenoms against each other in Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo and USC's JuJu Watkins. Today's match also allows Notre Dame freshman Kate Koval to see her high school teammate Kayleigh Heckel of Southern Cal. Both were McDonald's All-Americans last season and five-star recruits.

Notre Dame is 8-2 all-time against the Trojans and last saw them on Nov. 25, 2011 in the Bahamas. The Irish won that contest, 80-58.
