* Author Sabina Zimering will discuss "Hiding in the Open, A Holocaust Memoir" at 10 a.m. at the center. Zimering grew up in Poland and was 16 when World War II began. After three years of arrests, hunger and typhus in the Jewish ghetto, the deportation to Treblinka began. In the middle of the night she and her sister escaped. The cost is $2.

* The center will host a presentation by the "World's Fastest Omelet Maker" Howard Halmer. Halmer contends that even a slowpoke can turn out a perfect omelet in 40-60 seconds by following his techniques. He has appeared on "Oprah" "Good Morning America" and "Cooking Live." He showcases the versatility of eggs in demonstrations for a wide array of egg dishes. The event begins at 10:30 a.m.

* Senior Community Services offers the Household and Outside Maintenance for Elderly (H.O.M.E.) program for Minnetonka residents ages 60 and over. Volunteer groups and paid workers are available to help with yard clean up, lawn mowing, window washing, painting, small repair jobs and house cleaning.
