LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Lexington Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened on Sunday afternoon.

They say officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Fairmont Ct. around just after 12:00 p.m. for a shooting with a victim.

Police say when officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, who later died at the scene.

The Fayette County Coroner's Office has not yet released the victim's name.

The investigation is ongoing.
