Taylor and her husband, Xavier, share with PEOPLE how they've worked to celebrate and enjoy these little moments with their family
An ordinary trip to the shoe store turned into an unforgettable viral moment for the Kearney family.
Taylor and Xavier Kearney, along with their three daughters, were on a simple mission: to find shoes. What they didn't anticipate was that their daughters would transform the shoe aisle into a stage for praise dances, complete with twirls and joyful energy that's now gone viral on TikTok.
"It was really my husband's doing," Taylor shares exclusively with PEOPLE. "He found the shoes and knew my daughter would go crazy. As soon as she put them on, she started dancing, and I immediately started recording because it was just hilarious."
The video shows their daughter, Braylon, confidently gliding down the aisle, with her little sister McKinley quickly following in her own pair of "church heels."
The clip resonated with viewers, many of whom were reminded of their own childhoods spent in church or simply moved by the pure joy radiating from the kids. Taylor admits she wasn't expecting such a response.
"I record a lot of our moments, whether I post them or not," she explains. "But I thought, 'Nobody would believe me if I told them about this,' so I decided to share it. The response that came out of it has been overwhelmingly positive."
Xavier's playful parenting style played a big role in creating this moment. "I have a great sense of humor," he tells PEOPLE proudly. "When I come home from work, I'm always sneaking up on the kids or doing something silly to keep things light."
Taylor chimes in, "I'm usually the serious one, but with Xavier around, it's impossible not to laugh. Even when I try to discipline them, they're still being goofy."
"Our home was built on grace, sustained by faith and fueled by hope," Taylor shares. It's no coincidence that their daughters' middle names are Grace, Faith and Hope.
For the Kearneys, humor isn't just about keeping things fun; it's a cornerstone of their parenting philosophy.
"When in doubt, laugh it out," Taylor advises other parents. "Parenting is hard, but if you get mad about every little thing, it becomes mentally draining." She adds, "We're big kids raising little kids -- sometimes you just have to let go and find joy in the chaos."

This philosophy clearly shines through in moments like the now-famous shoe store dance-off. Even the store employees couldn't help but cheer on the two girls as they twirled down the aisles.
"They were encouraging them," Taylor recalls. "They were like, 'Go ahead, girl! Do your thing!' It felt like we were the only ones there."
Xavier echoes this sentiment, noting how meaningful it was to see his daughters express themselves so freely.
"We try to lead by example -- teaching love and kindness daily while enjoying life in the moment," he says. "With three girls, we deal with all kinds of moods -- but that day was pure joy."
